“I want to be an accountant because I want to help my family rise from poverty.”

Meet Chloe and Jade, two students from Hornalan Elementary School, located in one of the most remote farming communities of Calamba, Laguna, in the Philippines. The school serves 223 children between the ages of 5 and 12, many of whom come from families that rely on farming to make a living. With limited household incomes, some students struggle to access nutritious meals, while others miss school to help their families on the farm or at home.

Despite these challenges, students like Chloe and Jade have big dreams for their futures. Jade hopes to become a doctor so she can support her mother, while Chloe dreams of becoming an accountant to help lift her family out of poverty. Through Thrive’s daily school meal program, these children can receive the nourishment they need to focus on their education and work toward those dreams.

From Jade: “When I grow up I want to be a doctor so that I can help my mom so that she doesn’t have to struggle being a farmer.”

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Frankenfield family and their three-year pledge in honor of Virginia Morales Eusebio, students at Hornalan Elementary School will have access to nutritious school meals, helping ease the financial burden on families and giving children one less obstacle to overcome in pursuing their education.

From Ms. Tina, a teacher at Hornalan Elementary School: “The word thank you is not enough to express our overflowing joy.”

From Chloe and Jade: “Thank you to the Frankenfield family for feeding us.”

Thank you, Frankenfield family, for investing in these children’s futures and helping an entire school community thrive.
